Our goals

By 2012, what do we want to achieve?

The development goals for Interpret Europe
set by the Committee and Management are:

  • To establish an annual conference.

  • To establish a virtual market place that serves to link
all those that are involved and interested in interpretation
    in an international context.

  • To develop further a system of international quality standards
in heritage interpretation based on the Transinterpret approach.
This system of standards continues to evolve
and is based on research and new findings.
It does not diminish creativity among those who apply them,
but that it is flexible and open to individual creative solutions.

  • To establish a viable financial base for the organisation
in order to sustain a full time executive management
which can then provide regular membership services
and represent Interpret Europe in European and international bodies.

  • To recruit at least 200 members from at least 20 countries.

"I can't understand why people are frightened of new ideas. I'm frightened of the old ones."
